Blellum - Doodle by BlueRoseArkelle Blellum - Doodle by BlueRoseArkelle
TwT Blellum, my (mega) Banette <333
...o3o I noticed like, half way through that this would probably look super awesome as a tattoo xDDDDD //shot

Its taken me a LOOOOOONg time to finally commit to a favorite Pokemon, but finally after all these years I can say with 100% certainty that Banette is my favorite Pokemon! ;w; I've loved it ever since I saw it, ever since back in 3rd gen when it looked like a droopy sack of potatoes xD. I've just always loved it for some reason. It probably had a lot to do with the fact that Ghost is my favorite type in the beginning and then I was always intrigued by its original Pokedex descriptions. "A cursed energy permeated the stuffing of a discarded and forgotten plush doll, giving it new life as Banette. The Pokemon's energy would escape if it were to ever open its mouth"and " Banette generates energy for laying strong curses by sticking pins into its own body. This Pokemon was originally a pitiful plush doll that was thrown away"
;A; When I was little, reading Banette's Pokedex decriptions I alwasy felt really sad for it, you know? That it was abandoned and all, but the more I thought about it as I grew up, the better I understood that it most likely wasn't because it was always "ugly" or "creepy", but because the child that once held it grew up. The way ghost Pokemon are described canonically, they were at one time something other than what they are now, and only come to be as the result of traumatic experience/death/negative emotions. The way I see it, Banette was  originally a very cute little plushie, not at all what it looks like now, and the child never "abandoned" it because it was ugly/creepy/cursed/ etc. but stopped paying attention to it because they had simply outgrown their toy. I don't think there was any sort of ill will in my opinion, and thinking of it that way makes me feel all the more empathetic towards Banette, believing that nothing it did would even mater in the end, it was always doomed to be forgotten as many things naturally are as people grow up. Yet it never knew that, and thought the child had maliciously disowned it perhaps for a newer, better toy, and from that anger turned into what it is today. The zipper on its mouth represents the words it could never say, "I love you" "Am I not good enough?" or "Don't leave me",  and the manner of sticking pins in itself started as a desperate attempt to sew itself back together into something desirable after seeing its disheveled form upon becoming animate. Later once all hope was lost and spite took its grasp, Banette learned to use it to curse others to share its pain of ineptitude and numbing hopelessness. Thinkinng about it that way, I've always loved Banette because I loved being the person, or in this case Trainer, who gave it a second chance. Who despite its looks and grudges, picked it up and never let it go from then on. T//w//T And then from that new found unbreakable bond, Banette and its trainer gained the ability to Mega Evolve, in this case quite literally "opening" itself up to something more than grudges and hate; love. TwT I love Banette because even though it might look creepy and mean on the outside, I feel trust, loyalty, and a sincere innocent love when I look at it, and that has always spoken more to me than just liking a Pokemon simply because its "cute" or "strong".
.....xD Yo, thats totally oceans too deep for Pokemon I know, but its always the most fun for me to think of simple things as deep and complexly as I can, and those things that have the most levels of complexity are often my favorites <3

>w< Anyways, a doodle of Blellum, my Banette.  AHHH I want a real plushie of her someday! <333 TvT I've been working on her design a bit more...generally when it comes to Pokemon I don't like them to be super outlandishly unique because It seems...errr...unrealistic to the reality of the Pokemon universe. Like an Espeon with wings or an orange Umbreon with hair for example. But a few distinguishable details/differences are okay to me to make a person's Pokemon unique to them, so i've been working more on that for Blellum. TvT I decided I want her to have pointed "teeth" for her zippers rather than squarish ones, and she has a more exaggerated feminine shape. She still has her signature patchwork and stitching, which is more my realistic interpretation of Banette rather than the typical depiction. xD Oh, and I preeeety much only ever see her as being mega so...I dunno maybe i'll find a way to explain that someday, like why/how she is always in Mega form since a certain point.

This is what her stats/moves/ blah is tentatively~ xD Its not really ment to be a real working set of course haha, just what the Pokemon would have given its personality etc.~

Blellum || Female || Banette (Mega) || Adamant nature || Ability Prankster
Moves - Infestation (signature), Shadow Sneak, Will-o-Wisp , Double Team
Held Item - Binding Band

;___; Whoa anyway textwall okay i'm done kay bye.
^///w//^ Do let me know what your favorite Pokemon is and why/how it came to be, or if there is any Pokemon that are significant to you in some way~

My favorite Pokemon is Clefable. :3 She's cute, pink, and cuddly looking when you look at her. She has that "I'm cute and all, but don't let that fool you!" face. Not many like Clefable because she was a normal type, so I picked her and prove some of my friends wrong that Clefable can be just as good. Now that she's fairy type, she's stronger now ever since I transferred her to XY. I wish she was real so I can cuddle with her. >-<

This is my favorite pokemon ;w; I adore Mega Banette..the design and everything. Banette is adorable too but I love this ;w; That was very beautifully written and I think it gives this pokemon a whole new depth to me...I adored it and its description..Truly very saddening to certain pokemon..with only a short back story can get to me. And the way you view it is amazing and I agree..I want to give this pokemon love ;//w//;

Never too serious for Pokemon. I make characters out of mine now. I feel like it makes the game so much more real and...I dunno, enjoyable. For me at least xD
unng it's always so hard for me to pick my favorite. I just have no idea. I really love Arcanine because of the one I had in Black 2, Agni. He was sooo amazing, I absolutely loved him. I also really love Furret for some reason xD I have a tendency to try and find potential in Pokemon people would normally Plusle and Minun, Luvdisc, Corsola, etc. I really love Drifloon, and Vaporeon...Espeon too.
Gah, it's so hard. I'll have to think on it more and finally narrow it down...

Ok so you almost made me cry because of this lovely text wall. Without a doubt, I'll look at pokemon in whole different way now than 'hey that's a cool pokemon' or something like that.
In some way I have something with Bulbasaur. I'm truly not an earth type girl so the 'bond' between me and a grass-type pokemon is somewhat extraordinary. When I saw him for the first time in an episode I was totally in love by his look and design…it made him a tough looking cutie xD Anyway, when he didn't want to evolve I made my own story behind that event….I was 12..and with a lot of imagination I could write a small book of why Bulba didn't evolve. I was a yeah haha xD
Anyway…yaay a new drawing, and a beautiful one as always!
Big hug! ^w^

Ugh so pretty. As much as I love Banette I think my favorite pokemon would probably be Empoleon becuase when I had pokemon diamond he was just about the only pokemon I had in my party that could fight and granted I never really trained the others but to me he was always my little fighter. I remember he would go against pokemon 10 levels above him and would some how make it through the battle with the tiniest sliver of hp. I couldn't help but feel he would fight for me until he couldn't. Idk maybe I'm weird but honestly he'll always be my favorite for this.

That wall of text was so touching ;____; I CRY EVERYTIEM! I have so many favorite Pokemon, it's hard to choose just one. I'd like to have a big long explanation as to why I like one certain pokemon so much, but I can't xD Shiny Glaceon is probably my all time favorite, but Absol is close behind as well.
Very nice piece! Makes me want to pick up my tablet pen again! (If I didn't have so much schoolwork >.<)

Awwh I love your take on Banette. I'm doing a combined 100theme and pokémon challenge, and number 6 was "most terrifying pokémon" combined with "tears". After some consideration, I thought of Banette and drew him in a garbage dump in the process of laying curses upon himself. The mere idea of any of my stuffed animals becoming Banette from abandonment and I know it's not "real" but you know terrifies me to no end (not to mention Banette is grossly underrated in regards to fanart). I didn't pay as much thought to how there is a light at the end of the tunnel for this abandoned doll. They really do find new power within loving again.

And too deep for pokémon? Never! All right, enough rambling on my part. Fantastic work! I will always love your use of bold colors ^^. Best of luck to you Arkelle.

The colors are so vibrant! I've learned to associate the combination of purple and yellow with you XD. I love the little @ sign which I'm guessing is your signature
